Judy Louise Wilmes, 76 of Maryville, MO passed peacefully at home on June 22, 2024, surrounded by family.
Judy was born on July 15, 1947, in Kansas City, MO, daughter of Al and Lucille Meyer.
After graduating from Jefferson High School in 1965, Judy lived and worked in Kansas City, MO. On April 16, 1966, Judy married the love of her life, Ron Wilmes of Conception Jct. at St. Columba in Conception Jct., MO.
On April 13 th, 1967, their first child, Ron, was born in Alaska, second child, Amy, was born June 16, 1970, in Maryville, MO and third child, Tammi, was born on September 12, 1971, in Maryville, MO.
Judy loved to serve others. She was a member of the Altar Society and St. Gregory Barbarigo Parish. She had various jobs, but August of 1978, her career path led her to the role of Accounts Payable Supervisor in the Accounting Department at NWMSU where she later attended and was a proud Bearcat Booster. #OABAAB! She loved her job and her work family. Judy retired September of 2015.
She enjoyed watching her grandkids’ sporting events or activities, teaching them how to cook and bake, winters in Arizona with other family members, family lake trips, cruising around the Caribbean and Alaska, a lot of pitch playing, watching sunsets from her lake view deck, but mostly having fun with family and friends.
Judy was a fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, NWMSU Bearcat athletics and the Kansas City Chiefs. Judy loved God, family, our Country and was very proud of her husband and son’s, service and all who have served and continue to do so.
She was proceeded in death by her husband; Ron Wilmes, parents; Al and Lucille Meyer, sister; Janice Meyer, brother; JR Meyer, sister; Joy McManus, parents-in-law; Ernie and Maxine Wilmes, grandson; Hunter Giesken and beloved Aunts and Uncles.
She is survived by her son; MAJ(R) Ronald P. Wilmes (Angela) Smithville, MO; daughter Amy Wilmes-Brown (Perry) Platte City, MO and daughter Tammi Giesken (Corey) Kansas City, MO. Grandkids; Taylor Van Vickle (Seth), Madison Vice (Jesse), Brynnen Wilmes, Amber Weeks, Steven Weeks, Joshua Weeks, Cameron Brown, Kenadi Brown and Grayson Giesken. Great grandkids; Eleanor Van Vickle, Ellis Van Vickle, Brenden Vice, Caden Vice, Jayden Vice, Trevor Walton, Kaden Brooks, Piper Brooks, Ryleigh Weeks and Rayleeana Vice. Sister; Jerri Fannon (Bob) and Brother Johnny Meyer (Denise); Brothers-in-law; Ed McManus, Steve Wilmes, Rich Wilmes, Jim Wilmes and Bob Wilmes. Sisters-in-law; Denise Meyer, Dianne Wilmes, +Martha Wilmes and +Sue Wilmes. Sherry Wilmes, several nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends as well.
The family would like to give special thanks to the Oncology providers, physicians, nurses, and staff at Mosaic in Maryville and St. Joe MO and to all of their family and friends for their love and support.
