Virginia L. Ury

Virginia Lee (Lorius) Ury, 98, of Maryville, MO, passed quietly on Friday, October 19, 2018, at Oak Pointe assisted care facility, Maryville.

She was born in Ridgeway (Harrison County) Missouri, on July 14, 1920 to Ralph and Lelia (Jenkins) Lorius who precede her in death. She graduated from Ridgeway High School in 1938 and worked for a short time as a legal secretary in Kansas City, MO.

On July 6, 1940 she was wed to her high school sweetheart Raymond Claire Ury who passed in April of 2013. The couple had two sons, Victor of St. Joseph, MO and Gary of Maryville, MO.

She enjoyed reading, golf, cards and travel. Virginia and Raymond were world travelers and wintered in South Texas for 35+ years at Fiesta Village, Mission, TX. She was a member of the First Christian Church; and was also a past Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter 262, both of Maryville MO.

Virginia is survived by two Sons, Victor (Barb) and Gary (Connie); Five grandchildren: Tina (Jeff) Johnson of Republic, MO; Jeff (Kerri) Ury of Urbandale, IA; Lauri (Jeremy) Valenta of Seattle WA; Andrea (Melissa) Sandusky-Ury of Maryville, MO; Jennifer (Alex) Tinsley of Carson City, NV; and 6 great grandchildren; Nicholas, Megan, Katelyn, Jocelyn, Ambrose and Maverick.

Memorial services will be at 3:00 PM, on Saturday, October 27, 2018, at the Bram-Danfelt Funeral Home, Maryville, MO.  The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.   Inurnment will be at a later date.
