Timothy Scott Hodge

Timothy Scott Hodge, age 49, passed away September 4, 2018 in Maryville, MO. He was born May 24, 1969 in Maryville, MO.

Tim was a graduate of New Market High School. He enjoyed helping his father on the family farm in his younger years and aspired to be a writer. Tim had a gift of writing poetry and shared that gift with those closest to him. He had a strong passion for music and fishing. Tim cared deeply for others and genuinely wanted to make the world a better place.  Tim battled mental illness from early adulthood; however, he never let it affect his true nature of wanting to give to others and think positively about life.

Tim fathered three children, Felicia, Kahner, and Taelor and he considered them his greatest accomplishments. He had an innate ability to make people laugh and touched the hearts of those around him no matter where he was in life. Tim bravely faced cancer and never complained or looked for pity as he neared the end of his life.

Tim is survived by and will be remembered lovingly by: Parents, Joe and Lois Hodge, Bedford, IA; Sister, Deann Hensley, Niece, Ella Hensley and fiance Greg Grasty, Newton, IA: Daughter, Felicia Hodge and Grandson, Zander Haley, Bedford, IA; Daughter, Kahner Hodge and Grandson Kenneth Davies, Mason City, IA; Son, Taelor Hodge, Mason City, IA; Niece, Erin Hensley, Ames, IA; Step-daughter, Cassie Phelps, Red Oak, IA; Step-son, Caedron (Amanda) Bartles, Des Moines, IA; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family.

Preceding Tim in death include: Brother, Michael Shawn Hodge, Hopkins, MO; Grandparents, Loren and Vivian Garrard, Gaynor, MO; Grandparents, Harlan and Helen Davison, Hopkins, MO; Uncle, Richard Davison, Maloy, IA; and Uncle, Kenneth Davison, Maryville, MO.

Mr. Hodge has been cremated.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 8, 2018 at the Bram-Danfelt Funeral Home, Maryville, MO. Service time will be 10:00 AM.

The family will meet with friends and family from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM the day of the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be directed to the family to help with final expenses.
