Thomas L. "Tom" Mcmahon

Thomas Lynn “Tom” McMahon, 61, of Skidmore, MO, passed away on Monday, June 5, 2017, at the Nodaway Nursing Home, of Maryville, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Tom was born on July 29, 1955, in St. Joseph, MO. His parents were Ernest J and Lois W. (Coston) Bowenkamp. They preceded him in death. He was also preceded by his niece, Jamie Brown-Carlson.

Tom was a 1975 graduate of the Nodaway-Holt R-VII, high school. He spent 22 years in the Environmental Service department at Northwest Missouri State University. Tom was a member of the Christian Motorcycle Association. He was a volunteer fireman with the Skidmore Fire Department for over 30 years, had helped for 17 years with the Freedom Fest in Skidmore, and with the Skidmore Community Betterment.

His survivors include his 2 sisters, Cheryl Huston, Skidmore, and Joyce (Steven) Monty, Collinsville, OK; his 2 nieces Bobbi McMahon, and Jody Brown, 3 great nieces, Halea VanGundy, Madison Murphy, and Delani Murphy, and great nephew, Rylan Murphy, and lots of cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, June 8, 2017, at the Bram-Danfelt Funeral Home, Maryville, MO. The burial will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery, Skidmore, MO.

The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 PM, on Wednesday, June 7, 2017, at the funeral Home, Maryville.
