Scott Warren Ross, 76, of Maryville, Missouri, was born on January 4, 1949, in Columbia, Missouri, to Robert Lee and Virginia (Scot) Ross. He passed away unexpectedly at the Mosaic Medical Center ER, on Monday, February 24, 2025.
Scott graduated from Albany High School in 1967. He then graduated from the University of Missouri in 1971, and in 1973, graduated summa cum laude from the University of Missouri School of Law. He served as editor-in-chief of the Missouri Law Review from 1972-73.
Scott and Meredith Ann Gillispie were married in Albany, Missouri, on August 12, 1972, to this union two children were born, William Scott Ross and Ellen Ann (Daryl) Wilmes.
Scott and Meredith moved to Maryville in 1973, when he went into the practice of law with Joe and Rex Beavers. He later practiced law in partnership with Larry Zahnd and Glen Dietrich, and finally as a sole practitioner until his retirement in 2018.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Chris Ross.
Survivors include his wife, Meredith, of the home, his children, Will and Ellen, and grandchildren, Jackson Wilmes and Jameson Wilmes, his siblings, Anne Ross, Clark, Missouri, and Carter (Denise) Ross, Columbia, Missouri, and 4 nieces and nephews.
Scott has been cremated under the care of the Bram Funeral Home, Maryville, Missouri
Memorial services will be at 11:00 AM, on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at the First United Methodist Church, Maryville, Missouri. The burial will be at a later date in the Grandview Cemetery, Albany, Missouri.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until service time on Saturday at the church.
Memorials are suggested to the Maryville Public Library, or the Maryville Athletic Booster Club.
