Ruth Maxine Eckstein, 90, of Maryville, Missouri, and formerly of Parnell, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at the Nodaway Nursing Home with family at her side. 

Ruth was born in Tarkio, Missouri, on June 23, 1934, to Carl Emmett and Ethel May (Fry) Foley. She graduated from Parnell High School and received her teaching certificate from Northwest Missouri State Teachers College. 

Beside raising her family, she taught school, had worked in the cap factory, then retired after 20 years from Energizer Battery, Maryville, Missouri. 

On April 2, 1956, Ruth was united in marriage to Louis Michael Eckstein. They were married for over 23 years before he passed away in 1979. Her parents preceded her in death, as well as her husband, and her brother, Charles Foley, 4 grandchildren, and her son-in-law, John Untiedt. 

Her survivors include her 6 children, Vincent (Beverly) Eckstein, Maryville, Missouri, Martin (Sue) Eckstein, Maryville, Susan (Kenny) Wilcox, Parnell, Missouri, Sharon Untiedt (Cory Kracht), Maxwell, Iowa, Rose Eckstein, Maryville, Betty Eckstein, Maryville, her sister, Naomi Mullock, Parnell, 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews, and Myron. 

Ruth has been cremated under the care of the Bram Funeral Home, Maryville, Missouri. 

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM, on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at the Bram Funeral Home. The burial will be at a later date in the Oak Lawn Cemetery, Ravenwood, Missouri. 

The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. 

Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association.
