Ronald R. From

Ronald Ray From, 80, of Maryville, MO, passed away on Saturday, August 18, 2018, at the Mosaic Life Care, in St. Joseph, MO.

Ron was born at home in Maryville on January 28, 1938. His parents were Henry and Flossie Mae (Gilbert) From. They preceded him in death. He was also preceded by his brothers, Hank and Jack From, and his sisters, Ruth Diggs, and Christine Peve.

Ron graduated from Maryville High School in 1956. He spent two summers in Shakopee, MN, working with his brother; with the city and driving a truck. Ron worked for many years in the Maryville area and at the Maryville Co-op in various management positions. Those included service stations, TBA Truck, and warehouse manager.  Later, he drove a truck for LMP Steel and Wire.

He was a builder and liked to tinker with things; cars, motorcycles, anything with a motor. He liked to fish at the Missouri River, but spending time with his family was his true love.

Ron was a member and attended Laura Street Baptist Church in Maryville. He was an active member of the Northwest Missouri Street Rod Club.

On September 10, 1960, Ron was united in marriage to Lorna Sue Mayfield, at the First Baptist Church in Maryville. She survives of the home.

His other survivors include his children, Lori Ann Clements, Maryville, MO, Jeffrey Dwayne (Karen) From, Maryville, MO, and Thomas Ray (Debbie) From, Kansas City, MO; his sister, JoAnn (Bob) Horn, Maryville, MO; 7 grandchildren, Geoffrey From, Corey From, Michael Clements, Aaron From, Billie Jo Neal, Brady From, and Jessica From; 4 great grandchildren, Julian From, Lilly Hankins, Ezra From and Evelyn From; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ron was cremated under the direction of the Bram-Danfelt Funeral Home, Maryville, MO.

The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 PM, Thursday, August 23, 2018, at the Laura Street Baptist Church, Maryville, MO. The memorial services will begin at the church at 7:00 PM.

Memorials are suggested to the Ron and Lorna From Spirit of Education Scholarship Fund at Northwest Missouri State University, Maryville, or to a charity of the donor’s choice in Ron’s name.
