Robert L. Henggeler

Robert Lee Henggeler, 79, of Maryville, MO, passed away on Tuesday, February 20, 2018, at his home.

Robert was born on April 5, 1938, in Clyde, MO.  His parents were Xavier F. and Evelyn (Wallingford) Henggeler.

He attended grade school at Immaculate Conception in Conception, MO.  He graduated from Jefferson C-123 High School in Conception Junction, MO.  He then attended Northwest Missouri State University, in Maryville.

Robert served in the Army National Guard from 1960-1966.  He was employed in the business office at St. Francis Hospital from 1966-1981.  Then he went to work for NEBS/Deluxe in Maryville from 1982 and retired in 2008.  He had also owned and operated a farm until 1997.

He was united in marriage to Shirley Ann Butts on September 30, 1989.  She passed away in 2015.  He was also preceded in death by his parents, and his step daughter, Deanna Hurley in 2014.

He was a member and attended St. Gregory’s Catholic Church, Maryville, where he served as greeter, usher and Eucharistic Minister.  He was also a lifetime member of the Elks Lodge, #760, Maryville.

His survivors include his 2 step daughters, Debra Dawn Powers-Sytkowski and husband Mike, of Kingsville, MO, Tammy Schatzberg, Maryville, and son in law Tom Hurley, Perry, MO; step grandchildren, Evan (Michelle) and Dylan Cloepfil, Jacob and Josh Schatzberg, Erin Walden, and Erica (Phillip) Keck; 2 brothers, Leroy (Judy) Henggeler, Ravenwood, MO, Edwin (Mary) Henggeler, Stanberry, MO, and sister, Ellen Henggeler-Joslin, Maryville, and many nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 AM, Saturday, February 24, 2018, at the St. Gregory’s Catholic Church, Maryville.  The burial will follow in the St. Patrick’s Cemetery, also of Maryville.

Prayer service will be at 4:30 PM, Friday, February 23, 2018, at the Bram-Danfelt Funeral Home Maryville.  The visitation will follow until 7:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the St. Gregory’s Catholic Church, Maryville, or the Conception Abbey, Conception, MO.
