Norma Ruth Wilson, born July 7, 1931, and passed away on December 14, 2024
Norma was born in Pickering, Missouri, to Mildred (Wilson) Sobbing. She graduated from the Pickering High School in 1945 and then enlisted in the US Army in 1951, during the Korean War. She was fortunate enough to spend 2 years in Italy and later she was in the Army reserves.
Thanks to the military and the G.I. Bill, she was able to attend the University of Arizona where she graduated in February 1963 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in education. After receiving her degree, she began her career at Cragin Elementary School teaching 2nd grade for 29 years.
She also had a love of dogs particularly Wheaton Terriers. She bred Wheatins, as well as showing them every chance she could.
Norma is survived by her sister, Margaret (John) Palmer, as well as 5 nieces, 7 nephews, and numerous cousins.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Mildred Sobbing, step-father, Pete Sobbing, 2 brothers, Bill (Julie) Sobbing, Joe (Carmen) Sobbing, and life-long friend, Lori Bellante.
Norma has been cremated under the care of the Bram Funeral Home, Maryville, Missouri.
A memorial service will be held at White Oak Cemetery, Pickering, Missouri, at a later date.
