Nina Faye Miller

Nina Faye (Harper) Miller, 81, of Maryville, MO, passed from this life on Tuesday, August 8, 2017, at the Parkdale Manor Nursing Home, Maryville.

Nina was born on October 12, 1935, in Stanberry, MO.  Her parents were Charles Louis and Pauline Elizabeth (Collins) Harper, and preceded her in death.  She was also preceded by 3 brothers and 2 sisters; and by her daughter Deborah Bix in 2013, her son Terry Swalley in 2003, and 2 grandsons, Steven Swalley in 2010, and Chad Bix in 2015.

She attended grade school in Toad Hollar, Possum Walk, and Sunrise country schools, before attending Pickering High School.  Later she received her LPN degree from Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville.

She was a nurse for over 35 years, and had worked at St. Francis Hospital in Maryville, and had been the plant nurse at Solo Cup in Ada, OK.  She returned to Maryville in 1999.

She attended the First Baptist Church in Maryville.  She was a board member of the NOCOMO Industries, and the Nodaway County Senior Center, Maryville.  She was an avid Pinochle and Pitch player and enjoyed any card games.  She also liked to bowl.

She is survived by her 4 children, Harold (Laura) Swalley, Marianna, FL, Rick (Kathy) Swalley, Hopkins, MO, Roger (Rosa) Swalley, Delhi, CA, and Ben Swalley, Maryville, MO; 2 sisters, Clara (Wayne) Smith, Lincoln, MO, and Mary Harper Gaa, Maryville, MO; 15 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Miller has been cremated and her memorial services will be at 10:00 AM, on Monday, August 14, 2017, at the First Baptist Church, Maryville.  The inurnment will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Clearmont, MO.

The family will receive friends for one hour prior to services at church.
