Laurel Guy Aley, 83, of Maryville, Missouri, left us peacefully on Sunday, November 3rd, 2024, at the age of 83, in Maryville. Born on Wednesday, May 21st, 1941, in Maryville, Missouri, Laurel was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.
Laurel spent many years in Maryville, Missouri, and had lived 30 years in Arizona, before returning to Maryville in 1990.
He had worked as a mechanic for the Nodaway County Roads and Bridge crew, and in his younger years had worked at Kissinger's Flowers, and for Louie Moore in Maryville. He enjoyed operating Ham Radios and the adventurous pursuits of GeoCaching. He formerly attended the Assembly of God Church.
He married Bonita June Davis, and she passed away in 1983. Later he married Martha M. Davis, in Braddyville, Iowa, on January 19, 2002. His parents preceded him in death, as well as 2 brothers, Leland Aley, and Robert Aley.
Laurel is survived by his wife, Martha, of the home. 3 children: Ronald (Marie) Aley of St. Joseph, Missouri; Lori (Everett) Sticken of Pickering, Missouri; and Wanda (Matt) Clements of Maryville, Missouri. he is also survived by eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, seven stepchildren, Jim Davis, St. Joseph, Missouri, Robert Davis, Bedford, Iowa, Mike (Carissa) Davis, Maryville, Missouri, Jerry (Kristi) Davis, Barnard, Missouri, Carl (Tina) Davis, Clarinda, Iowa, Jill Blay, Maryville, Missouri, and Jody Davis, Gladstone, Missouri, sixteen step-grandchildren, and twelve step-great-grandchildren, who will all miss him dearly. His family also extended to numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM, on Thursday, November 7, 2024, at the Bram Funeral Home, Maryville, Missouri. The burial will follow in the White Oak Cemetery, Pickering, Missouri.
The family will greet friends for one hour prior to the services on Thursday at the Bram Funeral Home.
Memorials in Laurel's name are suggested to the New Nodaway Humane Society, Maryville, Missouri.
