Kathryn JoAnn Horn passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at Nodaway Nursing Home in Maryville, MO.

Kathryn JoAnn was born May 4 th , 1933, in Maryville, MO., to Henry and Flossie Mae (Gilbert) From. She was one of six children that included Hank, Jack, Ruth, Christine, Ronald and JoAnn.

JoAnn grew up in Maryville attending school there and graduated from Maryville High School, she loved sports and playing basketball.

On November 12, 1952, she married Bobby Dean Horn, and they were blessed with two children; Richard, and Bradley.

JoAnn was always active with her boys. She loved going to sporting events; she even played in a few bowling, basketball, and softball leagues. Later on, with her grandsons, taking them to practices and watching their sporting events. She and Bob enjoyed square dancing, and she loved to ride her bike and be outside.

Right out of high school she was working at Woolworth at the lunch counter, as her kids and grandkids grew up, she worked at Town and Country and Livingstons and was able to make sure the boys always had the latest clothes, and even had them in a few fashion shows.

In her later years, she loved to sit at home in the kitchen and watch the birds and animals outside on the patio. Bob always made sure to have the bird feeders and squirrel corn filled.

JoAnn is preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Bobby Horn; her son Bradley; her brothers, Hank, Jack and Ronald From; and sisters, Ruth Diggs and Christine Peve.

Left to cherish her memory is her son Rick (Susan) Horn of Maryville, MO; grandsons TJ (Tammy) Horn of Coin, IA; and Adam (Sara) Horn of Kansas City, MO; great-grandchildren: Dallas (Blake) Harvey, Danae Davies, Ady, Lilly, and Hudson Horn; great-great-grandchildren Asher and Archer; and brother-in-law Gary Horn, along with many other family members and friends.

JoAnn has been cremated under the care of the Bram Funeral Home, Maryville, Missouri.  Memorial services will be at a later date.
