Jerri L. (Giesken) Walker, a beloved wife, mother, sister, and grandmother, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 27th, 2024, at Parkview Health Care Facility in Bollivar, MO, with her family at her side. Born on May 28th, 1959, in Riverside, CA, Jerri lived a life full of love, faith, and dedication to her family and community.
Jerri lived all over the country as a child but came back to the area after her father retired from his Air Force career. She spent about a decade in the area, Uniting in marriage with Harland Walker on August 12 1988 in Ravenwood MO. Soon after the couple moved to Colorado where they spent 30 years building a life together, returning just three years ago to south central Missouri.
Jerri is survived by her devoted husband, Harland Walker, of the home. She leaves behind a legacy of love through her children: sons Scott Finley and his wife Sydney of Glenwood Springs, CO, and Harland "Bud" Walker of Parachute, CO; daughters Darla Stafford and her husband Bart of Humansville, MO, and Gretchen VanBebber and her husband Brent of Bolivar, MO. Jerri was a cherished sister to Terri Giesken, her twin, of Ravenwood, MO, Bonnie Taylor and her husband Ed of Puyallup, WA, Elizabeth Wiesemann and her husband Charles of New Brunswick, Canada, and Renee Teeter and her husband Darren of Bolivar, MO.
Her grandchildren, who brought immense joy to her life, include Luka Finley, Harley VanBebber, Noah VanBebber and his wife Alex, Stetson Jones, Jasmine Shone, Sadie VanBebber, Kolton Rebel, Olivia Finley, Piper Finley, Hayden Kulwiec, Kiara Walker, and Kylee Walker.
Jerri was preceded in death by her parents, Gerald E. Giesken and Metta M. Giesken, as well as her twin siblings, Gerald Jr. and Mary L. Giesken.
A graduate of Phoenix University, Jerri dedicated her professional life to serving others as a bookkeeper and personal caregiver. Her passion for helping others extended beyond her work, as she was deeply involved in her Christian faith, living her life as a godly woman.
Jerri found joy in the simple pleasures of life, spending much of her spare time tending to her beautiful flower gardens. She was also an avid crocheter and a devoted dog lover. Her gentle spirit and nurturing nature touched the lives of all who knew her.
In honor of Jerri's love for animals, the family requests that donations be made to the New Nodaway County Humane Society in lieu of flowers.
Pallbearers for the service will be Stetson Jones, Bud Walker, Kolton Rebel, Scott Finley, Harley VanBebber, Noah VanBebber, Jared Luke, and Travis Wymore.
Arrangements are being handled by Bram Funeral Home. Jerri's family and friends will gather to celebrate her life and the love she shared with all who knew her. She will be dearly missed and forever remembered in the hearts of those she touched.
There will be a visitation at the Bram Funeral home Thursday, 10/31/2024 from 5-7 pm. The funeral service will be held at the Ravenwood Christian Church, Friday, 11/1/2024, at 10 am.
