Jane Cronin

Alyce Jane Cronin, 88, of Maryville, Missouri, and formerly of Hastings, and York, Nebraska, passed away peacefully at Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph, Missouri, on Tuesday, January 16, 2024.

Jane was born in York, Nebraska, on May 23, 1935, to Clifford L. and Nelle (Alecock) Steven.  She grew up in York and graduated high school there.  Then received her B.S. in Music from the University of Nebraska.  She moved to Maryville 20 years ago.

She married Richard Levi Cronin on July 22, 1961, in York, Nebraska, and he passed away on April 9, 2019, after 57 years of marriage.

Jane sold Avon products, taught piano lessons, and worked in the cafeteria at the York High School.

Her parents preceded her in death, also her husband Richard, and her brother, Jack Steven in October 2023.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Maryville, and the Alpha Omicron Phi sorority.

Her survivors include her 2 sons, Steven (Carlos) Cronin, Houston, Texas, and Jim (Joyce) Cronin, Maryville, Missouri, 2 grandchildren, Kael (Ashley) Martin, North Kansas City, Missouri, and Jarrett (Alix) Cronin, St. Joseph, Missouri, and 4 great grandchildren, Kason, Penelope, and Jude Martin, and Lincoln Cronin, and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM, on Monday. January 22, 2024, at the First Presbyterian Church, Maryville, Missouri.  The burial will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery, also of Maryville.

The family will receive friends at the Church for one prior to the service.
