Elizabeth Alice “Betty” Bliley, 95, of Stanberry, Missouri, and formerly of Conception Junction, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at the Pine View Manor in Stanberry, surrounded by family.
Betty was born in Ravenwood, Missouri, on November 29, 1928, to Aloysius “Al” and Hazel Gertrude (Comer) Schuetz. She attended grade school in Ravenwood, and then graduated high school from Immaculate Conception School, in Conception, Missouri.
On November 30, 1946, at the Immaculate Conception Basilica Abbey, Betty was united in marriage to Ralph Andrew Bliley, they were married 67 years before his passing in 2013.
Betty worked as a supervisor at NOCOMO Industries in Maryville, Missouri.
She was a member of the St. Columba Catholic Church, the Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus, and a 75-year member of Tri-C American Legion Post 464 Auxiliary unit, where she was the Past District and Unit President.
Betty loved to go fishing, raising a garden in her earlier days, watching her kids and grandkids playing sports and spending time with family.
Besides her husband and parents, Betty was preceded in death by her brother Richard Schuetz, her 2 sister in laws, Joana Schuetz and Caroline Schuetz, her daughter-in-law, Deborah Bliley, her grand daughter, Kimberly Reidlinger, and 1 great-great grandson, Rhett Joseph Weir.
She leaves behind her 7 children, Carolyn Bliley (Mark Parsons), Kathy (Earl) Schwebach, Jim Bliley (Jo Mahoney), George (Janet) Bliley, Barbara (Don) Richardson, Emily Schafer, and Jonathan Bliley, 2 brothers, Robert Schuetz, and Maurice (Clarice) Schuetz, 17 grandkids, 38 great grandkids, 10 great-great grandkids, and nieces and nephews.
Betty has been cremated under the care of the Bram Funeral Home, Maryville, Missouri.
A Rosary will be held at 5:30 PM, Sunday, April 14, 2024, at the Bram Funeral Home, Maryville. The visitation will follow from 6-8:00 PM.
Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM, on Monday, April 15, 2024, at St. Columba Catholic Church, Conception Junction, Missouri. The burial will follow in the St. Columba Cemetery, Conception, Missouri.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Mosaic Hospice, St. Joseph, Missouri, or the Auxiliary Unit of Tri-C American Legion Post 464, Conception Junction, Missouri.
