Edwin J. Duty

Edwin James Duty, 69, Maryville, Missouri, passed from this life at home on Wednesday, April 9, 2025.

Ed was born in Fruita, Colorado, on March 9, 1956, his parents were William Boyd and Merrietta Alice (Carter) Duty, Sr.

He graduated from Dekalb High School and had worked general labor at a variety of jobs over the years.

His parents preceded him in death, and an infant sister, Beth Elaine Duty.

Ed liked to ride horses and was a fan for many years of the Kansas City Chiefs.

He married Karen Marie (York) Duty and she survives of the home.

He is also survived by his sons, Walker Duty, Connor Duty, and Jacob Duty, his daughters, Becky Kelley, and Megan (Chuck) Warman, and by his siblings, William (Ellen) Duty, Jr, Patrick Duty, and Nancee Lynn Gonzales, 7 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ed has been cremated under the care of the Bram Funeral Home, Maryville, Missouri.

Memorial services will be at 11:30 AM, Monday, April 21, 2025, at the First Christian Church, Hopkins, Missouri. His cremains will be scattered at a later date.
