Charles Irvin “Chuck” Hamilton, Jr., 86, of Barnard, MO, and formerly of Medicine Lodge and Topeka, KS, passed away on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, at the Mosiac Medical Center, Maryville, MO.
Chuck was born in Wichita, KS, on February 23, 1937, to Charles Sr., and Dorothy Hamilton. He had grown up in Kansas and had moved to Barnard in 2007. He was of the Christian faith.
He worked many years as an insurance adjuster for Farmers Insurance Co, and several years as an auto body repairman at Lodge Chevrolet.
Chuck enjoyed his horses, trail rides and had built his own buggy. He was involved for over 40 years in the Indian Peace Treaty reenactment at Medicine Lodge, KS. He liked to hunt, he was a private pilot and flew his own plane. He enjoyed mechanics, woodworking, and remodeling houses. He also enjoyed his dogs and horses.
He is survived by his wife, Joy B. Hamilton, of the home, his son, Craig Allen (Christi) Hamilton, Omaha, NE, his daughter, Cathy Jo (Dennis) Forbes, Owasso, OK, 2 step children, Tim Skinner and Desiree Billings, 6 grandchildren, Kamerin (Matt) Gibson, Tristan McKinley, Charli (Devin) Jones, Cassi (Gavin) Fritz, Dakota (Nicole) Urban, and Rachel (Scott) Nicholas, and 9 great grandchildren.
Graveside services and burial will be at 1:00 PM, on Monday, November 13, 2023, at the Highland Cemetery, Medicine Lodge, KS.
Services are under the direction of the Bram Funeral Home, Maryville, MO.
