Caroline Ann (Middagh) Keever, age 75 of Maryville, Missouri, passed away Saturday, December 14, with her loving family by her side.
Caroline was born on November 7, 1949, to Clyde Middagh and Caroline (Zemanick) Middagh in Grand Island, NE. Caroline was Clyde and Caroline’s first child and she was later joined by her brother Clyde Leslie John Middagh, Jr. Caroline’s family lived in Grand Island, NE, for some time before they moved to Council Bluffs, IA. Caroline was raised in Council Bluffs where she had many memories and good stories of adventures with her brother and childhood friends. Caroline attended Thomas Jefferson High School and graduated in 1968. After graduating from high school, Caroline attended Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, MO, where she majored in Home Economics. Caroline realized her passion for teaching children and changed her major to education earning an Elementary Education Bachelor of Science degree in 1987.
After moving to Maryville, Caroline started her professional career that included time at Ward’s Drive In, JC Penney, Laclede Chain, Northwest Missouri State University purchasing and admin, babysitting, and Apple Realty. Caroline’s passion was teaching children and she began her teaching career as a sixth-grade science teacher in Parnell, MO, in the Northeast Nodaway school district. From there, Caroline finished her teaching career in Burlington Junction, MO, in the West Nodaway school district as a K-6 Chapter math teacher. After retiring from teaching, Caroline went on to work part time for the North Star Advocacy Center in Maryville, MO. Caroline had many fond memories of her time working and made some great friends along the way.
Along with her passion for teaching, Caroline always enjoyed sewing and crafts. Her creativity was reflected in her sewing, quilting, cross-stitch, and crafting projects. In addition to crafts, Caroline enjoyed family trips. Some of her favorite vacations were renting a beach house in Florida and getting all of the family there together to enjoy each other’s company.
Caroline met her husband Doug Keever while living in Maryville, and they were united in marriage on October 6, 1973. Caroline and Doug had three children Seth Keever, Sara Keever, and Alex Keever. Caroline was preceded in death by her parents Clyde Leslie John Middagh and Caroline Ann Middagh,
brother Clyde Leslie John Middagh, Jr., and her daughter Sara Lin (Keever) Cibrian. Caroline is survived by her loving husband of 51 years Doug Keever, Maryville, MO, sister-in-law Linda Rice, Ainsworth, NE, son-in-law Luis Cibrian, Kansas City, MO, son Seth Keever, Maryville, MO, son Alex (Sariah) Keever Kansas City, MO, grandchildren Dominck Cibrian, Aidan Cibrian, Isabella Cibrian, Kendall Keever, Kyle Keever, Brooklyn Keever, as well as many nieces, nephews, and great friends. Caroline was blessed with a wonderful family she adored and was the best wife, loving mother, and grandmother a family could hope for. She will truly be missed.
Visitation will be at Bram Funeral Home in Maryville, MO, on Thursday, December 19 th at 1:00 pm with funeral service following at 2:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Caroline’s remembrance to the American Legion Post 528 Auxiliary in Parnell, MO, or North Star Advocacy, Maryville, MO.
