Billy (Bill) Gene Egbert passed away on Sunday, December 15, 2024, at the age of 65, at Mosaic in St. Joseph, after a brief illness.
Billy was born in Fairfax, Missouri, on August 12, 1959, to Harold Keith and Carol Marie (Wardlow) Egbert. His parents preceded him in death, as well as his brother, Stan Egbert, in January of 2024.
Billy graduated from Tarkio High School in Tarkio, Missouri in 1977. Following graduation, he secured employment at Harry Wright's Ford dealership in Tarkio, Missouri. He worked as a field service technician for Fives Global Services and had previously worked for 24 years at Eatons in Shenandoah until its closure. Bill was a lifelong resident of the area.
Billy's interests included outdoor pursuits such as hunting and fishing. He was also an avid enthusiast of muscle cars, with a particular fondness for Mustangs, having owned multiple models throughout his life. Furthermore, he was an animal lover, especially when it came to his cats.
Billy married Rebecca Haer on August 26, 1985, they were married for 39 years. She still resides in the home.
Other survivors include his children, Kevin Egbert, Hickory, North Carolina, James (Natalie) Egbert, Clarinda, IA, Patrick Long, Fairfax, Missouri, and Sarah (Travis) Husing, Maryville, Missouri, 10 grandchildren, Adelyn, Riley, Gavin, Faith, Jaiden, Hailey Egbert, Sawyer and Trayton Husing, Stephen (Jennifer) Long, and Kalab (Missy) Long, 6 great grandchildren, and 2 nephews. Billy has been cremated under the care of the Bram Funeral Home, Maryville, Missouri.
The Bram Funeral Home, Maryville, Missouri, is in charge of arrangements.
Services will be held at a later date. Memorials can be given in Billy’s name to the New Nodaway Humane Society, Maryville, Missouri.
