Beverly Jane Mavity

Beverly Jane Mavity, 90, of Maryville, MO, and formerly of Ottawa, KS, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 14, 2018, at the Maryville Living Center with her family at her side.  She has lived in Maryville since October 2014.

She was born on July 13, 1927, in Richmond, KS, to Benjamin Franklin and Bessie V. (Killion) New, they preceded her in death, she was also preceded by her husband, Gene on November 2, 2001.

She was a graduate of the Ottawa Kansas high school.  And on June 9, 1945, Beverly was united in marriage to Gene W. Mavity, in Kingsville, TX.

Beverly was a homemaker, mother, and proudest of all, a grandmother.

Memberships:  She became a member of the Methodist faith on June 5, 1938, and this was her most important membership.  She attended the First United Methodist Church in Ottawa, KS and had attended other First United Methodist Church’s over the years.  She was a PEO member; a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, United Methodist Women, the Morning Circle, a past Guardian of Job’s Daughters, and the Disciples Bible Study Group.  She was on the Arts Council in Emporia, KS, a 4-H Leader, in the PTA, and a room mother for all 3 of her children.

Her survivors include her 3 children, Pamela J. (Michael) Shepard, Columbus, KS, Meredith Jene (Rick) Roush, Leavenworth, KS, Ronald D. (Kris) Mavity, Maryville, MO; her brother, Lowell Dean (Amy) New, Tempe, AZ; 6 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be at 1:30 PM, on Wednesday, March 21, 2018, at the First United Methodist Church, Ottawa, KS.  The burial will follow at the Princeton Cemetery, Princeton, KS.

The family will receive friends from 1-1:30 PM, at the church.

Services are under the direction of the Bram-Danfelt Funeral Home, Maryville, MO
