Michael L. Killingsworth

Michael L. “Mike” Killingsworth 57, of Skidmore, MO. passed away Saturday August 14, 2010 at a hospital in Omaha, NE.
Mike was born on March 23, 1953 in Mount Ayr, Iowa to Harry Edward Killingsworth and Betty L. Black Killingsworth Myers, his father preceded him in death. Mike was also preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Harry E. and Mabel A. Killingsworth, and his maternal grandparents, Ernest and Sadie M. Black.

Mike was a 1971 graduate of the Albany, MO. high school. He received his B.S. in Ag Education from N.W.M.S.U. in Maryville, MO. He received his Masters in Ag Economics from the University of Missouri/Columbia, and he also had his crop advisor certificate. Mike lived all his life in northwest Missouri, was an honorably discharged veteran of the U.S. Navy, and was of the Methodist faith.

Mike had been a school teacher. He had worked for and had made several trips abroad for the American Berkshire Association. He had also worked for the University of Missouri Extension, and was self employed as an Ag Consultant.

Mike was a member of the Host Lions Club, Maryville, the Missouri Farmers Union, the NW Chapter of Pheasants Forever, the Democrat Club, and had been the committee chair for the Northwest Missouri Democratic Committee.

Mike married Rana R. Bielby on November 18, 1995 in Oregon, MO, she survives of the home

Other survivors include his sister, Debra A. Thiele, Prairie Village, KS, his brother, Tim E. Killingsworth, Pattonsburg, MO, and his mother, Betty Myers, Eagleville, MO. His is also survived by his mother-in-law, Barbara Bielby, St. Joseph, MO, and by several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

Mike’s funeral service will be at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at the Bram-Danfelt Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery, Skidmore, MO. The Rev. Harold Hamon will be the officiant. The family will receive friends from 6-8 P.M. Monday, at the funeral home.
