Graham, Missouri - Earl Andrew Davis, 91. of Graham, passed from this life on Tuesday, September 26, 2006 at the Beverly Health Care Center, Maryville.
Born on April 9, 1915 in Cowgill, Missouri he was the son of the late Homer Andrew & Mary Ann (Stevens) Davis.
Earl was a graduate of New York High School, Hamilton, MO.
On April 30, 1939 he was united in marriage to Mary Catherine Armentrout at the Ravenwood United Methodist Church by a classmate of Earl's who was serving the church at that time. To this four children were born.
Earl was a farmer and owner and operator of the Davis Fertilizer, Graham. He was a member of the Graham United Methodist Church where he was active and held many official capacities of the church, including Chairman of The Board. He was a member of the Graham Lions Club where he held many official positions and the he was honored by being elected District Governor of District 26 F, from 1980 - 1981. Leader of the Graham 4 - H Club for over 30 years.
During his time as District Governor he had many rewarding and joyous experiences including trips to Australia, Hawaii, Texas and Louisiana and he visited all the Lions Clubs in the district. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge A.F. & A.M. Lodge #289, Graham, Masonic Lodge A.F. & A.M. #71 of Savannah, MO. He was a member of the Graham Housing Committee and the Graham Community Betterment. He was on the Board of Directors for the Lion's Club Eye Foundation from 1987-1996.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Leta Zapf and a son-in-law, Charles Douglas Johnson.
Left to survive his passing include his wife, Mary Catherine of the home, daughters, Rosalea Johnson, Graham, MO, Geneva Lou Tubbs and her husband, Donald, Bigelow, MO, twin sons, Dr. Larry Andrew Davis and his wife Cindy , Granite City, IL. and Dr. Gary Arthur Davis and his wife Sherry, Omaha, NE, 12 Grandchildren, 2 Step-grandchildren, five great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
A Celebration of his Life will be held at 10:30 A.M. On Saturday, September 30, 2006 at the Danfelt Funeral Home, 951 S. Main Street, Maryville, MO 64468 with Rev. Connie Ury, Officiating. Final Resting place will be in the Prairie Home Cemetery, Graham. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6 to 8 P.M.
