Jeannie Shores

Velma “Jeannie” Shores 77, of Maryville, MO passed away Thursday, November 4th, 2010 at the Parkdale Manor Nursing Home in Maryville.

She was born on October 7, 1933 in Maitland, MO to Norvel Clark and Dora Fuller Harris, and resided in the Quitman and Skidmore Missouri areas before moving to Maryville three years ago.

Jeannie was very proud of receiving her G.E.D. in Maryville in 1972, and worked as a department head for the former Kmart Store in Maryville.

She married William A. Johnston, they later divorced. She married Edwin Shore, and he preceded her in death in 2001. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Lilly Lockhart, and Dorothy Mitchell, two brothers, Kenneth Harris, and Robert Harris, and her son, Greg Johnston, in 1995.

Survivors include her son, Kevin Johnston, Skidmore, MO, her two daughters, Linda (Burl) Miller, Maryville, MO, Cathy (Randy) Kaufman, Troy, KS, her sister, Joyce Tunnell, Rock Port, MO, her two brothers, Norvel (Betty) Harris, Jr, Springfield, MO, and Jimmy (Rachael) Harris, Boone, IA. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services and burial will be at 1:30 P.M. Monday, November 8, 2010 at the Quitman MO, Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 P.M. Sunday, November 7, 2010 at the Bram-Danfelt Funeral Home, Maryville, MO.
