Mr. Dale Daniel Dorman, Jr. 78, of Graham, MO, passed away Thursday, November 18, 2010, at his home north of Graham.
Dale was born on October 17, 1932 in Graham, and was a resident of Council Bluffs, IA before returning when he retired. His parents were Dale Daniel and Mary Elizabeth Shields Dorman, Sr., they preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his brother Jim, in 2003.
Dale was a graduate of the Graham High School, where he was student council president and the editor of the school paper. He then joined the U.S. Army in February 1953, and spent two years in service.
Dale got his college degree and went to work as an accountant doing audit work for SAC bases, he spent 34 years with Offutt Air Force Base, Omaha, NE.
Dale loved to travel and visited 64 countries and all 50 states. He took over 30,000 photos and enjoyed displaying them for local nursing homes. He was a member of the Nodaway County Democratic Club. Dale’s greatest love was his cats.
Survivors include his nephew, Alan E. (Toni) Rowlett, Graham, MO, his niece, Melinda Dorman Stickens, Graham, MO, and a host of Graham area friends.
The funeral service will be at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, November 23, 2010, at the Bram-Danfelt Funeral Home, Maryville, burial will be at the Prairie Home Cemetery, Graham, MO. The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. until service time Tuesday at the funeral Home
Military honors at the cemetery will be conducted by members of the James Edward Gray American Legion Post 100, Maryville, and by members of the Missouri Military Honors Detail.
In lieu of flowers, donations are directed to the Tri-City Friendship Center, 208 S. Second Street, Maitland, MO. 64466.
