Pickering - Paula L. McSweeney, 52, of Pickering, died on Monday, October 30, 2006 at the St. Francis Hospital, Maryville.
Born on March 9, 1954 in Council Bluffs, Iowa she was the daughter of the late Paul Hixson and Mary Lou (Ranne) Hixson, Mt. Ayr, Iowa.
She attended Iowa State University and Northwest Missouri State University. She was a longtime member of the Tobin Benefit Golf Classic Committee.
She was employed at the St. Francis Hospital for 27 years.
In addition to her mother she is survived by her devoted husband, Thomas D. McSweeney, whom she married on June 27, 1976 in Tingley, Iowa, loving daughter Brenna A. McSweeney, of the home, a brother, Curtis J. Hixon, Omaha, NE.
She was preceded in death by her father.
A Celebration of Her Life will be held at 1:30 P.M., Thursday, November 2, 2006 at the Danfelt Funeral Home, 951 S. Main Street, Maryville, Missouri 64468 with the Rev. Paul McKim, officiating. Mrs. McSweeney was cremated under the trusted care of the Danfelt Funeral Home. Final Resting Place and Inurnment will follow the service at the Oak Hill Cemetery, Maryville.
There will be no viewing, however the family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 7 to 8 P.M. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
