Virginia Ann Asher

Virginia Ann “Jennifer” Asher 74 of Sheridan, MO., passed away Monday, November 2, 2009 at a health care center in Maryville, MO.

Born on July 14, 1935 in Bedford, IA., she lived most of her life in the Sheridan, MO area. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Beatrice Larson Smith, and also by a son, Kelly Asher.

Jennifer was a C.N.A. and had worked at the Worth County Convalescent Center, Grant City, MO. She had attended the Methodist Church.

On April 18, 1959, she married C.M. “Pistol” Asher in Grant City, MO. He survives of the home.

Other survivors include three sons, Bobby and wife Pat Smith, Bedford, IA., Kevin Asher, Sheridan, MO., Troy and wife Jennifer Asher, New Market, IA. Three daughters, Kim Asher, Maryville, MO., Karla and husband Kyle Nelson, Stewartsville, MO., Toni and husband David Thomas, Sheridan, MO., two brothers, Dale and wife Janet Smith, Larry and wife Patsy Smith. One sister, Fanny and husband Larry Singleton. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Asher has been cremated. There will be a family and community get together at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, November 4, 2009, at the Community Center in Sheridan, MO. The interment will be at a later date in the Barnes Cemetery, Worth, MO. The Bram Funeral Home of Maryville, Inc. is in charge of arrangements.
