Barnard, MO - James Gordon "Jim" Blankenship 71, of Barnard, MO passed from this life on Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at the Golden Living Center, Maryville.
Born on September 24, 1938 in Starkville, MS to the late Robert & Irene (Andrews) Blankenship.
Jim married Joyce Elaine (Haist) on June 18, 1966 in Kansas City, KS.
He attended the Curtis Chapel Church in Starksville many years ago. He was a veteran of the United States Navy from 1956 to 1960. He retired in 1996 after 35 years of service as a supervisor of Warehouse & Shipping at Owen-Corning Fiberglass, Kansas City, KS.
He is survived by his wife Joyce Blankenship, Barnard; brother, Bobby & Gloria Blankenship, Starkville, MS; brother-in-law Larry & Elaine Haist, Barnard, MO; sister-in-law Bonnie & Wayne Collins, Barnard, MO; half-brother Billy Blankenship, Starkville, MS; half-sister Angie McGinness, Starkville, MS; and cousin Barney & Rosemary Smith, Iola, KS, and also numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and his little dog Missy. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ruby Sanders in 2000, Helen Weathers in 2007, niece Terri Blankenship, and sister-in-law Sara Blankenship in 1987.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, June 5, 2010, at the Bram-Danfelt Funeral Home, 206 E. South Hills Dr, Maryville, with Chaplain Floyd Ferguson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
Final Resting Place will be in the Miriam Cemetery, Maryville.
