Donald William Meyer

Conception Junction, MO - Donald William Meyer, 88, passed from this life on Thursday, March 11, 2010, at the Parkdale Manor Care Center, Maryville.

Don was born in Parnell, MO on March 2, 1922 to the late Francis & Veronica (Gunether) Meyer.

A graduate of Guilford High School, he married Millie Meyer on June 24, 1947 at the Immaculate Conception Abbey.

Don was a veteran of the US Navy and served in WW II and was a member of the American Legion for over 50 year. Don's life was marked by his love of carpentry.

He was a member of the St. Columba Catholic Church, Conception Junction, MO.

He retired from a Commercial Carpentry position in 1987, and spent 60 years with a Carpenter's Union. He spent many years in his wood shop doing what he loved. His memory will live on through the many things he made for those he loved.

He is survived by his devoted wife Millie L. Meyer; and his loving children Bill & Sue (Lane) Meyer, Savannah, MO; Steve & Romana (Fry) Meyer, Raytown, MO; David & Chris (Wiederholt) Meyer, Missouri Valley, IA; Dan Meyer & Nancy (Lyle) Meyer, Grant City, MO; Martin & Janet (Untiedt) Meyer, Leavenworth, KS; Donna & Russ Linville, Burlington Junction, MO, a sister Marcella Kwoka Shrewsbury, PA; 13 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 1 step-grandchild.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Andrew, Vincent, Jerry, and Bob Meyer, a grandson, Lee Linville, and a great grandson Tucker Conrad.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, March 13, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. at the St. Columba Catholic Church, Conception Junction, MO. Final Resting Place will be in the St. Columba Cemetery. There will be a visitation from 6 to 8 P.M. with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M., on Friday, March 12, 2010 at the St. Columba Catholic Church.
