Maurice Edward Sloan, 56, passed away Sept. 15, 2009 at his home in Ozark, MO.
He was born on June 12, 1953 to Joseph W. and Mildred Ballenger Sloan at Maryville, MO. He lived in and around Burlington Jct., MO most of his life.
He graduated from West Nodaway R-1 High School in 1972 and attended and played football at Missouri Western University in St. Joseph, MO. He worked for the West Nodaway School District for several years as bus driver and janitor. He moved to Ozark, MO and worked for Wal-Mart Corporation for the last several years.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Burlington Jct., MO.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a great niece, Michelle Malaga.
He is survived by his sister, E. Suzanne (James) Rasmussen, and his brother, Richard L. Sloan, both of Burlington Jct. He is also survived by 4 nieces: Jennifer Worl, Julia Malaga, Jillinda Thornton, and April Sloan; 1 nephew, Brian Sloan; 4 Great Nieces: Ariana Worl, Rachel Malaga, Samantha Thornton and Alyssa Melvin; 4 great nephews: Nicholas Worl, Benjamin Malaga, Brayden Anderson, and Hayden Sloan, and numerous cousins.
Mr. Sloan was cremated under the trusted care of Adams Funeral Home, Ozark, MO.
Memorial Services will be at 2:00 PM on Sunday, October 18, 2009 at the Burlington Junction United Methodist Church, Burlington Junction, MO. Final Resting Place will be in the Ohio Cemetery, Burlington Junction, MO.
