Edgar A. Williamson, 90, of Maryville, MO, passed away Sunday June 1, 2008 at the St. Francis Hospital with his loving family at his side.

Edgar was born on August 5, 1917 on Abe Goodpasture’s farm, northeast of Maitland, MO. His parents were Earl and Osie Thompson Williamson. Edgar had been a resident of Maryville most of his life and graduated from College High School.

On October 13, 1940, Edgar married the love of his life, Maxine Ferguson in Savannah, MO. To this union two sons were born, Edgar L. (Ed) Williamson, Winston-Salem, N.C. and Donald L. (Don) Williamson, Maryville. He is also survived by a granddaughter, Krista Williamson, Winston-Salem, N.C., and by two sisters, Mary Lou Hendrix, Bolckow, MO, and Vernelle Coburn, Albany, MO, and several nieces and nephews.

Edgar retired after 28 years from the former Maryville Shoe Company. He had many fond memories working with Bob, Bernard, and Austin. Edgar attended and was a past board member of the First Christian Church, was a 50 year member and past Master of the Nodaway Lodge #470 AF & AM, and the Nodaway County Historical Society, all of Maryville.

Edgar was preceded in death by his parents, and his loving wife, Maxine in 1999.

The funeral service will be 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, June 4th, 2008, at the Bram Funeral Home. Cremation will follow the service with inurnment at a later date at the Miriam Cemetery, Maryville. The family will meet friends from 7:00-8:30 P.M. Tuesday, at the funeral home. Masonic Services will be held during the funeral service Wednesday, under the auspices of the Nodaway Lodge #470, AF & AM. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the First Christian Church, Maryville. Services under the direction of the Bram Funeral Home of Maryville, Inc.
