Georgia Louise Adwell

Ravenwood - Georgia Louise Adwell, 80, died Wednesday, July 9, 2008.
Georgia was born near Ravenwood, MO on Septemeber 23, 1927 to Irvin C. Patterson and Nellie E. Loomis Patterson. Due to the death of her mother, she was raised by her Uncle Arza and Aunt Bessie Loomis.

Georgia attended the Labelle rural grade school and graduated from Ravenwood High School in 1945 in a class of 12. She attended State Teachers College at Maryville and taught school for 2 years in rural Nodaway County. She was baptized into Christ April 4, 1943.

Georgia married John Adwell on March 8, 1947. They farmed in the Ravenwood area all their lives. She was a member of the Ravenwood Christian Church where she taught Sunday School and VBS classes, played the piano and served as custodian for about 25 years. Georgia and her husband enjoyed volunteering at the Golden Living Center where they led the bell choir for 7 years. She was also a member of the former LaBelle Club.
Georgia was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, John. She is survived by a daughter, Margery Plumb and husband Tom of Shelbyville, MO, a son, James Adwell and wife Sharon of Ravenwood, MO, eleven grandchildren Nathan, Philip, & Caleb Plumb, Brad, Brett, & Meranda Adwell, Manessa Runde, Kelly Quinlin, Jeff, Craig and Dallas Archer and 17 great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, July 12, 2008 at the Ravenwood Christian Church, Ravenwood. Final Resting Place will be in the Oak Lawn Cemetery, Ravenwood.

The family will receive friends at the Ravenwood Christian Church on Friday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. with a prayer service at 7:45 P.M. Friends may call at the church after 5 P.M. Memorial donations may be made to the Ravenwood Christian Church.
