John L. Parman

Maryville - John Leo Parman, 81, of Maryville and formerly of Barnard, passed from this life on Monday, September 28, 2009 at his home.

He was born on May 22, 1928 in Denver, Missouri to Dennis W. & Carrie M. (Abplanalp) Parman.

He graduated from Graham High School, where he excelled in basketball. He farmed with his wife, Ruth in Barnard till they retired in 2003. He was a member of the Laura Street Baptist Church and a former member of the Graham Lions Club.

He was an avid fan of Northwest Missouri University Bearcats football and basketball teams, and after retirement he enjoyed fishing. He was very devoted to his family and his church.

He is survived by his devoted wife Ruth Jean (Burns) Parman whom he married on May 22, 1949 in Barnard, MO, loving sons, Kurby Parman and wife Terri, Barnard, Bob Parman and wife Nancy, Barnard, grandchildren, Bobbi Holmes and husband Seneca, Aurora, CO, Cody & Austin Parman, Barnard, Jessie Prettyman and husband Nathan, Barnard, Brooke & Allie Nauman, great grandchildren, Seneca & Santonio John Holmes, step grandchild, Jaylynn Wilmes., brother, Charles Parman, Pickering, MO, Lester Parman, Allen, TX, Donald Parman, West Lafayette, Indiana. He was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, October 1, 2009 at the Danfelt Funeral Home, 951 S. Main St., Maryville, MO 64468. Final Resting Place will be in the Bethany Cemetery, Barnard, MO.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. Friends may call anytime after 10 AM on Wednesday. Memorial Donations may be made to SSM Hospice NW Missouri or Laura Street Baptist Church.
