D. Wendell Rasco

Barnard - D. Wendell Rasco, 90, of Barnard, passed from this life on Sunday, November 30, 2008 at the St. Francis Hospital.

Born on December 15, 1917 in Barnard he was the son of the late George T. & Gwendolyn (Fuller) Rasco. He married Bette Mae Evans on March 25, 1939 and she preceded him in death.

He was graduate of Barnard High School and served in the US Army during WW II, he was also a member of the American Legion Post 102 Barnard.

He retired in 1979 from the Missouri Hwy. Dept. after 40 years of service.

He is survived by his wife, Marjorie (Vanfossan) Rasco whom he married on July 15, 1985, children, Sandra Gillespie, Albany, Thomas Rasco and wife Paula, San Antonio, Karen Dack and husband David, Conifer, CO, Wendy Tripp and husband Bob, Shawnee, KS, Evan Rasco and wife Kim, Smithville, MO, step children, Larry Vanfossan, Council Bluffs, Teena Turnbaugh, Des Moines, Ronnie Vanfossan, Council Bluffs, Sam Vanfossan, Barnard, 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, 10 step grandchildren and 17 step great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Ida Mildred Hall, granddaughter, Cindy Lynch, step son, Jim Vanfossan, step grandson, Brandon Tripp.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, December 2, 2008 at the Danfelt Funeral Home, 951 S. Main Street, Maryville, Missouri 64468. Final Resting Place will be in the Barnard Cemetery. There will be no evening visitation or viewing however the family will receive friends at the funeral on Tuesday at 10 A.M. Memorials donations to American Legion Post 102 Barnard.
