Ruth E. Appleman

Maryville, MO - Ruth E. Appleman, 88, of Maitland, MO passed away on Friday December 26, 2008 at the Nodaway Nursing Home in Maryville, MO .

She was the daughter of the late George and Betty (Persson) Sanders. She was born in Skidmore, MO on November 25, 1920.

She graduated from Northwest Missouri Teachers College in 1953.

She retired from the Nodaway-Holt School District after 40 years of teaching.

She was involved in the American Legion Auxiliary, PEO Sisterhood, and the Missouri Retired Teachers Association.

She was a member of the Maitland Christian Church.

She is survived by Sharon Rowlett, Caregiver, and cousins Lois Derr, and Bob Hitchcock as well as several extended family members.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Doile, in 1987, her parents, and her sister, Eleanor Kneale.

A visitation will be held one hour prior to the services from 9-10 A.M. Services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, December 29, 2008 at the Danfelt Funeral Home, Maryville.

She will be buried in the Maitland Cemetery, Maitland, MO.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the Tri - City Nutrition Site, Maitland, MO.
