Phyllis R. Clayton 79, Guilford, MO., passed away Monday, December 29, 2008 at the Golden Living Center, Maryville.

Phyllis was born on June 30, 1929 in Maryville and was a lifelong Nodaway County resident. She attended the Guilford United Methodist Church and was a member of the Lafayette Worthwhile Club, both of Guilford. She was a graduate of the Horace Mann High School and attended Northwest Missouri State University.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Lorenzo and Mabel Cook Bagley. She was also preceded in death by a son, Donald D. Clayton, in 1970.

On September 16, 1951 she married Eldon Clayton in Maryville, MO., he survives of the home. She is also survived by her son, Kenneth L. and wife Nida Clayton, of Guilford, MO., 7 Grandchildren, Kenda and husband James Staudenmaier, Irvine, TX., Michael Clayton, Isaiah Clayton and Rebecca Clayton, Guilford, MO., David and Olivia Morrow, St. Joseph, MO., Lindsey Clayton and Destiny Clayton, Guilford, MO. 4 Great grandchildren, Elizabeth, Britney, Josiah, and Jacob Staudenmaier, Irvine, TX. And several nieces and nephews

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 31, 2008, at the Guilford United Methodist Church. The body will arrive at the church one hour prior to services. Burial will be in the Weathermon Cemetery, Guilford, MO. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at the Bram Funeral Home, Maryville, MO.
