Irene Shaiffer

Maryville - Erma "Irene" Shaiffer, 85, of Maryville, formerly of Maitland passed from this life on Friday, November 7, 2008 at the St. Francis Hospital.

Born on January 17, 1923 in Forest City, MO she was the daughter of Charley & Blanche (Grimm) Dozier.

She was a member of the Maitland United Methodist Church and had work at Bonner's Corner Grocery for many years and the Maitland Nutrition Site.

She is survived by her loving children, Charles Shaiffer & wife Trudy, Pocahontas, AR, Vanessa Hill & husband Marty, Platte City, MO, brothers, Dwight Dozier, Barnard, Roy Dale Dozier, Hutchinson, KS, Wayne Dozier, St. Joseph, MO, six grandchildren, two step grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, two step great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, William "Bill" Shaiffer in 1988, and a daughter, Thelma Karen Carpenter in 2002, sister Polly Trafton.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, November 10, 2008 at the Danfelt Funeral Home, 951 S. Main Street, Maryville, MO 64468. Final Resting place will be in the Maitland Cemetery. There will no evening visitation. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the Diabetes Association.
