Billy Lee Murphy

Maitland - Billy Lee Murphy, 78, of Maitland, passed from this life on Wednesday, March 14, 2007 at his home.

Born on April 11, 1928 in Barnard, Missouri he was the son of the late Louis Dow & Maude (Reynolds) Murphy.

He retired as a load operator after many years of working in the rock quarry industry.

He attended school in Nodaway County.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Betty Jean (McGeorge) Murphy, whom he married on May 6, 1948 in Maryville, MO, loving children, Linda Anderson, Silver Lake, KS, Dennis Murphy, Maitland, Gary Murphy, Maitland, Vicky Pistole, Guilford, Marsha Gregory, Guilford, Kelly Daugherty, Maitland, Shelley Bix, Maitland, brothers, John Murphy, North Hills, CA, Jerry Murphy & Mickey Murphy both of Barnard and a sister, Phylis Howard, Graham, 27 Grandchildren, 30 Great Grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Larry Leon Murphy, daughters, Kathy Lynn Murphy & Beverly Ann (Murphy) Taylor, brother, Howard Murphy, sister, Shirley Baker, infant brother Jimmy & infant sister, Mary Alice Murphy.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on, Friday, March 16, 2007 at the Danfelt Funeral Home, 951 S. Main Street, Maryville, MO 64468 with the Rev. Paul McKim, officiating. Final Resting Place will be in the Weathermon Cemetery, Guilford., MO. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to SSM Hospice of Northwest, MO.

There will be no evening visitation or viewing, however the family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. on Friday prior to the service.
