Frances Campbell

Lola Frances (Hull) Campbell 74, of Elmo, MO, died June 30, 2008, at the St. Francis Hospital in Maryville, MO.

Frances was born on August 7, 1933 in rural Burlington Junction, MO, to Frank and Ruth (Bain) Hull. She attended a one room school house, Possum Walk School, until 8th grade before graduating from Elmo High School in 1951. Following graduation, she attended NWMSU in Maryville, MO. Frances was a lifetime member of the Elmo United Methodist Church, and lived most of her life in the area. She was preceded in death by her parents.

On August 10, 1952, she married James R. “Doc” Campbell. They moved several times as he finished his stint with the USMC, settling in Columbia, MO. She worked at the University of Missouri while he studied Veterinary Medicine. Together they established a large veterinarian practice in Elmo, Mo., with Frances managing the office for the practice.

She is survived by her husband, three daughters and sons-in-laws. Anita and Ed McCumber of Ashland, NE., Teresa and Donald Fast, Jr., and Linda and Steve Kirsch of Burlington Jct., MO., nine grandsons, two granddaughters and three great-grandchildren.

Frances, ‘Grandma Doc’ to her grandchildren, and their friends, always remember the full cookie jar and the smell of fresh baked bread. Her laugh and great sense of humor will be remembered by all who knew her.

Visitation will be held from 6-8:00 P.M. Wednesday, July 2, 2008 at the Bram Funeral Home, Maryville. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 A. M. Thursday, July 3, 2008 at the Elmo United Methodist Church, Elmo, MO. Burial will be in the LaMar Cemetery, Elmo. The family suggests memorials to the Arthritis Foundation, or the Elmo United Methodist Church. Arrangements are under the direction of the Bram Funeral Home of Maryville, Inc.
