Maryville - Kenneth Joseph Schafer, 38, of Maryville, passed from this life on, Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at the St. Francis Hospital.

Born on January 14, 1970 in Maryville, Missouri to William & Dorothy (Spire) Schafer of Maryville.

He was the owner and operator of Schafer Digging, Maryville.

He was a devoted father and husband.

He was a member of St. Gregory's Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Elks Lodge, Rock Club, Coach of the Mavericks Baseball Team. He was an avid deer and turkey hunter and an avid volleyball player.

In addition to his parents he is survived by his devoted wife, Toni (Montgomery) Schafer whom he married on June 12, 1993 in Maryville, loving children, Trevor Joseph Schafer of the home and Mason James Schafer of the home, loving sisters, Christy Szabo, Platte City, MO, Rebecca Schafer, Gladstone, MO, Elaine Schafer, Platte City, MO, loving brother, Edward Schafer, Maryville, grandparents, Robert and Mary Spire, Maryville. He is also survived by nieces and nephews; Zach Szabo, Shelby Lager, Fritz Lager, Anna Lager, Natascha Degase, and Austin Brown.

Preceded in death by grandparents, Henry & Margaret Schafer, brother in law, Frank Szabo.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, March 24, 2008 at the St. Gregory's Catholic Church, Maryville with Father Martin De Meulenaere, O.S.B. as Celebrant. Burial will be in the St. Mary's Cemetery, Maryville.

The Family will receive friends at the St. Gregory's Catholic Church on Sunday from 4 to 7 P.M. Memorial Donations may be made to the family for the children's education fund.
