Omaha, NE - Virginia Sue (West) Johnson, 80, of Omaha, and formerly of Maryville, passed from this life on Thursday, April 26, 2007 at her daughter's home in Omaha.
Born on April 2, 1927 in Burlington Jct., Missouri, she was the daughter of the late Franklin Perry & Della Mae (Meyers) West. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale Dorman Johnson, on September 5, 1992.
Virginia lived in the Skidmore, Quitman, and Maryville area all her life until moving to Omaha with her daughter in 2002. She was a member of the Skidmore Christian Church. She worked most of her life as a Nurse's Aide at several healthcare facilities in Maryville until she became disabled.
She is survived by her loving children, Vivian Wright and husband Sam, St. Joseph, MO; Frances Hammond, Omaha, NE; Franklin D. Johnson, Espanola, NM; and John E. West, the nephew she raised. She is also survived by grandchildren Lisa Townley, Blue Springs, MO; Sandra Hammond, Omaha, NE; Christina Kelly, Rushville, MO; Kent Hubbard, Lawson, MO; Amy Marie West, Albany; and Cody and Nathan West, St. Joseph, MO. There are 14 great grandchildren.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, Franklin G. West, George West, and Roland West, and sisters, Agnes Gunther, Luellyn Rose Palmerton, and Dorothy Baglin.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, April 30, 2007 at the Danfelt Funeral Home, 951 S. Main Street, Maryville, Missouri with the Rev. Don Barnett officiating. Final resting place will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery, Skidmore, Missouri.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon from 3 to 5 PM.
