Lois Yvonne Bowenkamp

Skidmore - Lois Yvonne Bowenkamp, 71, of Skidmore, passed from this life on Wednesday, August 6, 2008 at the St. Francis Hospital.

Born on September 15, 1936 in Quitman, MO she was the daughter of the late Charles Lloyd & Sarah Etta (Johnson) Coston. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest J. Bowenkamp in 1991.

She was a member of the Skidmore Christian Church and had served two terms as Mayor of Skidmore as well as two terms as an Alder person. She was also a Freedom Fest supporter.

She was the former owner of B & B Grocery Store, Skidmore, MO.

She is survived by her loving children, son, Thomas McMahon, Skidmore, MO, daughters, Cheryl Huston, Merriam Woods, MO and Joyce Monty and husband Steve, Collinsville, OK, two sisters, Donna Johnson and Anita Charlene Brunk both of Shenandoah, Iowa, granddaughters, Jamie Brown, Jody Murphy and husband Louis, Bobbi McMahon, great granddaughters, Madison, & Delani Murphy, Halea VanGundy, a great grandson, Rylan Murphy. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, August 9, 2008, at the Hillcrest Cemetery, Skidmore, MO with the Rev. Teddy Bitner, Officiating.

The family will receive friends at the Danfelt Funeral Home, 951 S. Main Street, Maryville, Missouri 64468 on Friday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. Friends may call anytime after 11 A.M. on Friday. The family has requested memorial donations to be made to the Newton Hall Community Building, Skidmore, MO.
