Maryville - John Franklin Slagle, 71, of Maryville, passed from this life on Tuesday, July 3, 2007 at his home.

Born on January 29, 1936 in Maryville, Missouri he was the son of the late Jess & Ethel (Pope) Slagle.

He was of the Protestant Faith.

He was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, Maryville.

He retired from N.E.B.S. after 18 years, prior to that he worked in construction.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 50 years, Marilyn Kay (Martin) Slagle, whom he married on October 6, 1956 in Maryville, loving children, Mark D. Slagle and wife Kathleen, Maryville, Christy Schmitz and husband Steve, Parnell, MO, Stan Slagle, Maryville, son-in-law, Jim Adwell, Ravenwood, of his late daughter, Debra Adwell, sister, Betty Simmons, Ravenwood, Eleven Grandchildren & Nine Great Grandchildren, a nephew & a niece.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Debra Adwell.

Graveside Services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, July 6, 2007 at the Oak Lawn Cemetery, Ravenwood, Missouri with the Rev. Paul McKim, officiating.

The family will receive friends at the Danfelt Funeral Home, 951 S. Main Street, Maryville, Missouri 64468 on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. with a prayer service beginning at 7:30 P.M. Friends may call anytime after 1 P.M. on Thursday at the funeral home.

The family has requested memorial donations to the St. Jude's Children's Hospital or SSM Hospice of NW Missouri.
