Maryville - Delano Eugene Simmons, 69, of Maryville, passed from this life on Saturday, October 13, 2007 at the Village Care Center.

Born on November 16, 1937 in Braggs, Oklahoma he was the son of the late Calvin B. & Beulah (Howard) Simmons.

He was a member of the St. Gregory Catholic Church.

He was the owner and operator of Simmons Village Restaurant & Deli for 26 years and formerly was the Food Service Director at Northwest Missouri State University.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Bernella Rose (Perk) Simmons, whom he married on January 31, 1957 in Sioux City, Iowa, loving daughters, Mary Simmons & Brenda Scott, both of Maryville, a sister, Delphia Reed, South Sioux City, NE, grandsons, Brad Simmons, Jason Laws, granddaughters, Tiffany Laws, Jennifer Tennihill, & Kim Tennihill. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, George A. Simmons, sister, Neta Simmons Oviatt.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, October 17, 2007 at the St. Gregory Catholic Church, Maryville. Final Resting Place will be in the St. Mary's Cemetery, Maryville.

Memorial Donations may be made to the family for the charity of their choice.

The family will receive friends at the St. Gregory Catholic Church on Tuesday evening from 6 to 7 P.M. with a Parish Prayer Service at 7 P.M.
