Bolckow, MO - J.R. Baker, 78, of Bolckow, MO passed away on Saturday, June 6, 2009 at the St. Francis Hospital.

He was born on June 6, 1931 to the late Fred and Ruby (Ridlon) Baker in Barnard, MO.

He retired from being a Self-Employed Trucker in 1975, and continued to raise cattle for the rest of his life.

He was a member of the United States Marine Corps and served in the Korean War from 1952 until 1954.

Mr. Baker is survived by his beloved wife, Wylla "Dee" Baker, of Bolckow, two daughters, Susan Geib of De Smet, SD and husband Mark; and Ellen Finney of St. Peters, MO, and husband Curt. He is also survived by a brother Frank Baker, of Martinsville, MO, and a sister Roberta Swalley, of Independence, MO, and five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He is preceded in death by a sister Pauline Wooderson, and brothers, Estel Baker, Leslie "Bud" Baker, and J.D. Baker, he is also preceded in death by his parents.

There will be a visitation at the Danfelt Funeral Home, 951 S. Main St, Maryville, MO 64468 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, on Monday, June 8, 2009.

Services will be held on Tuesday, June 9, 2009 at 2:00 PM, at the Danfelt Funeral Home, in Maryville, MO. Final Resting Place will be in the Weathermon Cemetery, Guilford, MO.

The family suggest that memorial donations be made to the American Lung Association.
