Dana Doyle Carpenter, 87, of Maryville, MO, and formerly of Elmo, MO, passed away on Monday, March 20, 2017, at Mosiac Life Care in St. Joseph, MO, with his family at his side.

Doyle was born in Elmo, MO, on July 5, 1929, his parents were Dana Orville and Pearl (Goodwin) Carpenter, and preceded him in death. He was also preceded by his 9 siblings

Doyle graduated from Elmo High School.

He proudly served his country in the US Army in the Korean War.

On August 21, 1953, at the First Christian Church in Maryville, he was united in marriage to Rosella "Rosie" Gustafson, she survives of the home.

He had worked and then retired after 30 years for the township road maintenance crews in Elmo, and later in Clearmont, MO..

Doyle and Rosie attend the Laura Street Baptist Church, Maryville, MO. He was a 60 year member of the Bradley-Carver American Legion Post 492, Elmo, MO.

He is survived by his wife, Rosie Carpenter, Maryville, MO, 2 children, Cathy (Ed) Ward, Weatherby, MO, and Gary (Tina) Carpenter, Heber Springs, AR, 5 grandchildren, Adam, Jared, Amanda Ward, and Heath and Ashley Carpenter, sister, Joan Sloan, St. Joseph, MO, 4 great grandchildren, Kaitlynn Ward, Charlie Ward, Evan Carpenter, and Jesse Carpenter.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, March 24, 2017, at the Bram-Danfelt Funeral Home, Maryville. The Inurnment will be at a later date.

The family will receive friends for one hour prior to services on Friday at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice and can be left at the funeral home.
