Betty Jean (Beggs) Carroll, 78, of Maryville, MO passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, February 16, 2017.

Betty was born near Guilford, MO, on November 7, 1938.  Her parents Robert Lee and Veda Earlene (Goforth) Beggs preceded her in death.  She was also preceded by her sisters, Mary Lou Phillippe and Janet Sue Beggs, her step father, Henry Oliver, and brother in law, Dick Allnutt.

Betty graduated from Stanberry Missouri High School and attended a year of college. George Carroll and Betty were united in marriage in 1957 in Guilford, MO and divorced several years later.

Betty lived in Southwest Iowa from 1962 to 1987.

She worked as a job recruiter for Agri Careers, in Massena, IA and later worked with her brother in law Dick in Joplin, MO. Betty moved to Maryville in 2000 to care for her mother and step father. While in Maryville, she worked for 10 years as the First Presbyterian Church secretary.

Betty is survived by her 2 children, Mike (Tabitha) Carroll, Stanberry, MO, and Beth (Tim) Marcsisak, Atlantic, IA; her grandchildren, Maureen Carr, Matthew Dolch, Laura Dolch, Vince Carroll, and Brody Carroll; her siblings, Gary Edward (Melody) Beggs, Robert Dean (Sandra) Beggs, Rita Ann Allnutt, brother in law, Narvin Phillippe; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Betty Carroll has been cremated under the direction of the Bram-Danfelt Funeral Home in Maryville.

Rev. Jonathan Mitchell will officiate memorial services at 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at the First Presbyterian Church in Maryville. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to services at the church.

Inurnment will follow the services at the Weathermon Cemetery, Guilford, MO.
