Robert E. Schulte

Robert Eugene Schulte, 86, of Maryville, MO, passed away on Thursday, January 26, 2017, at the Parkdale Manor Care Center in Maryville. He was in the company of his two children when he died.

Robert was born August 29, 1930, in Maryville. His parents were Roy Schulte and Clara (Stiens) Schulte. They preceded him in death.

He lived most of his life on a farm east of Maryville, and was a self-employed farmer. He was proud that his farm, "Mozingo Green Acres", later became part of Mozingo Lake.

Mr. Schulte was of the Catholic faith. His memberships included St. Gregorys Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, and the youth and church choir at the church, also the 4-H Club. He also sang and played the guitar.

He was a graduate of Horace Mann High School. He also helped establish the Vo-Tech School in Maryville.

He married Carol "Charlene" (Stoll), on May 8, 1954. She passed away on October 3, 2005, after 51 years of marriage. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Betty Taylor, and husband Charles Taylor, sister Mary Jane (Hunold) Strah, his 2 brother in laws Arthur Hunold, and George Strah.

His survivors included his 2 children, Greg Schulte, and Carla (Steve) Daniels, both of Maryville. 5 grandchildren: Zane (Rachyl) Schulte of Highland Ranch, CO, Nikkayla Schulte of Maryville, Christopher Pitts of Independence, MO, Bryan Pitts (girl friend, Jessica Farrell) of Maryville, and Kolby Jenkins of Maryville. 7 great grandchildren: Kinley DeMott, Connor Schulte, Cheyenne Pitts, Benton Pitts, Chase Pitts, Braxtyn Pitts, Ellie Brendle. His siblings, John (Irene) Schulte of Maryville, Nancy (Tom) Townsend of Maryville, and Patricia (Ed) Cook, Monroe, MI; sister in laws, Vera Mamie Kansas City, MO, Rosalee Merrigan, Maryville, and Mary Jo Durbin, Lewistown, MT. As well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM, Tuesday, January 31, 2017, at St. Gregory's Catholic Church, Marville, MO. The burial will follow in the St. Mary's Cemetery, Maryville.

A parish and family Rosary will be at 5:30 PM, Monday, January 30, 2017, at the church, with visitation to follow until 8:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to AseraCare Hospice, Savannah, MO, or to a agriculture scholarship to be established in Robert's name at NWMSU.
