Charles W. “Bill” Klindt, 94, of Maryville, MO, passed away on Thursday, November 24, 2016, at the Maryville Living Center, Maryville, MO.
Bill was born in Bethany, MO, on March 22, 1922. His parents were Charles D. and Esther (Taggart) Klindt. He graduated from Bethany High School, class of 1941. He had lived in the Maryville area since 1945.
He served his country from 1942-43 during WWII, in the United States Army.
On April 10, 1945, in Kansas City, KS, Bill married Arlene Pigg, and she survives of the home.
He was a self-employed salesman for all of his adult life. He was a member of the First Christian Church, member of the James Edward Gray American Legion Post 100 for the past 72 years, and a lifetime member of the D.A.V.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents; and his siblings, Chester Lee Klindt, Marjorie Hatten, Kenneth Klindt, and John Klindt.
His survivors include his wife, Arlene, of the home; his sons, Richard Norman (Carol) Klindt, Maryville, MO, and Stephen Gregory (Evelyn) Klindt, Overland Park, KS; his brother, Lyle Klindt, Bethany, MO, and his sister, Mary Mason, Pattonsburg, MO; 5 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, 2 great great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, November 29, 2016, at the Bram-Danfelt Funeral Home, Maryville, MO. The family will receive friends from 1:30 PM until service time at the funeral home.
Inurnment will be at a later date in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Maryville, MO.
Military services will be at the conclusion of the memorial services at the funeral home on Tuesday.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the SSM Hospice of NW Missouri.
