Dean Rogers

October 20, 1926 — August 15, 2016

Kenneth Dean Rogers, 89, Wellsville, KS, and formerly of Clearmont and Skidmore, MO areas, passed away on Monday, August 15, 2016, at a health care facility in Wellsville.

Dean was born in Clearmont, MO, on October 20, 1926. He lived in Cleamont, then in Skidmore, MO from 1976 to 2012, when he moved to Kansas. His parents were Kennard and Elyda (Turpin) Rogers. They preceded him in death, as well as 3 brothers, 3 sisters, and his great grandson Garrett Buck.

Dean graduated from the Clearmont High School. He was a foreman with MoDOT, and retired after 43 years on the job. He was a member of the Clearmont Baptist Church, the Burlington Junction Masonic Lodge and O.E.S. He was also a leader in the Boys Scouts of America.

He liked to read, watch westerns on T.V., to travel to Branson, MO and loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

On November 6, 1976, Dean was united in marriage to Norma Jean Gannon, at the Clearmont Missouri Methodist Church.

His survivors include his wife, Jean Rogers, of the home in Kansas; 7 children, Connie (Steve) Hintze, Kansas City, MO, Rick (Velma) Rogers, Edwardsville, KS, Janet (Bill) Miller, Kansas City, MO, Gary (Cynthia) Weaver, Willard, NM, Randy (Linda) Rogers, Neosho, MO, Larry Weaver, Princeton, MO, and Cathy (Steve) Ghale, Edgerton, MO; 14 grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews; and his brother, Kennard “Buddy” Rogers, Lawrence, KS.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM, Friday, August 19, 2016, at the Clearmont Baptist Church, Clearmont, MO. The burial will follow at the Oak Hill Cemetery, Clearmont, MO. Arrangements are under the direction of the Bram-Danfelt Funeral Home Maryville, MO.

The family will receive friends for one hour prior to services at the church.
