Phyllis Kay Derry passed away July 24, 2016 at Nodaway Nursing Home after a valiant fight with cancer.
Phyllis was born April 8, 1952. She was the daughter of Eldon and Colleen Lane of Stanberry, Missouri.
Phyllis attended Northwest Missouri State University for 2 1/2 years.
Phyllis was a Registered Nurse who spent her career between Nodaway Nursing Home, where she was director of nursing for 15 years and the Golden Living Center. When Phyllis became ill a few months ago she made arrangements to be cared for by her co-workers at the Nodaway Nursing Home.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her father, Eldon Lane; brother, Steven Lane; husband Scott Turner; and husband Olin Derry.
Survivors include her mother Colleen Lane of Stanberry, son Travis (Collette) Turner and granddaughter Lillie of Kansas City, MO, daughter Sara (Drew) Tyson and grandchildren Collin, Amarieanna, and Andrew of Kansas City, MO. , sister in-law Cindy Lane of Stanberry, brothers Stanley (Deborah) Lane of Stanberry, and Scott (Marsha) Lane of Clyde, MO., sisters Linda (David) Miller of Stewartsville, and Denise (Russell) Wiederholt of Maryville. And Phyllis's dear friend and beau Bill Eckles of Maryville, and many aunts and uncles and nieces and nephews.
Phyllis has been cremated under the directions of the Bram-Danfelt Funeral Home , Maryville.
Memorial contributions of canned goods can be given to the Nodaway County Food Pantry.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 27, 2016 from 6 PM until 8 PM and at 9 AM July 28, at the Bram-Danfelt Funeral Home in Maryville.
Memorial graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM, on Thursday, July 28, 2016, at the High Ridge Cemetery in Stanberry, MO.
